2013 Finals at Preston 061 reducedWe had another huge day at Preston Park, hosting all the Under 11’s Finals.  With magnificent Spring-like weather, a great day was had.  As is the case, there must be winners and losers.  Commiserations to our visiting teams that did not advance.

Congratulations to all those that advanced to the Grand Final.  We’ll see you next week.

The Crusaders had two teams playing on Saturday, the 18C’s who went down 1-0 in a torrid encounter.  As well, the 21C’s nearly caused heart failure for all their spectators.  After scoring a brilliant team goal, they let in 2 goals from corners in the first half, then 1 in the second half.  However, they finished with a burst to equalise at 3 all, then held on in extra time.

Sunday started as another beautiful day, with three teams playing.  The AL15’s were dominant in the first quarter of the game, then fell away in the first half.  While they fought hard in the second half, then went down, 3-1.  The SWF’s had a bit of a breeze to deal with.  They held the game to a nil all draw until late in the second half.  They were unfortunate to let a goal in, and hence were knocked out.  The AL11’s fought hard throughout their game, went down 1-0, then equalised by an own goal assist (my term).  They held on through extra time, to advance, as well.

So, we have five teams in the Grand Finals.

On Saturday, the 14C’s, W15B’s, 21D’s and 21C’s.  On Sunday, the AL11’s.

While the times and locations are pretty definite, we will post the final draw on here, once it is issued.

Congratulations and Good Fortune to our teams making the Grand Final, and commiserations to our teams who were knocked out, over the weekend.
