This is my first report for the season. In rd1 the girls had an easy win 11-1 against Miranda. In rd2, the girls played a hard fought 4-4 draw v Redbacks in the extreme heat. This showed great teamwork and heart as we were down 4-2 at half time.
We entered rd 3 confident, but we were nursing a few injuries and only had 10 players. The game started in a promising way with crusaders having a few unsuccessful chances by Nicola and Amanda and good lead play by the mid field. It was 0 – 0 at half time.
In the second half, we fought strongly, however with no reserves the pressure mounted. Sylvania were awarded a penalty which Rochelle saved, but they then went on to score a goal.
The girls were exhausted but still giving their best. Abby was running strongly in the mid field, Emily and Marissa combining effectively in the central defence.
Unfortunately they scored a second goal with 4 seconds to go.
Rochelle had a great game in goals.
