It was a gorgeous day when our 14C’s took on the Cronulla Seagulls at Woollooware last week. Coach Ian valiantly took the reigns while Coach Spetch was sunning himself and golfing in Queensland. The boys were all excited to get the season started after a bye last week was replaced by a thoroughly enjoyable game with the Titans. What a fantastic program!
Boys took to the field without Josh who was golfing and Luke who had experienced an altercation with an oyster at camp the previous week but started well with the game remaining 0-0 thanks to some fantastic saves from goalkeeper Matt. Marley made some excellent runs down the side in his first game with the Crusaders and the team was also helped along greatly by our other new players Jared and Michael who left old clubs behind and made the decision to join our great Team. Good choice boys!
Unfortunately the Seagulls inched ahead, pinned back by a fantastic ” bend it like Beckham” goal from Jayden but still managed to be ahead at full time.
All in all a very enjoyable start to the season and good promise for the season ahead.
