The first half started close between the Crusaders and Barden Ridge with Nick breaking the nil all deficit in the 18th minute with a blinder of a goal. Two minutes later, the boys struck back again through Ben, after kicking it to the keeper, who then fumbled the ball and Ben was there to knock it in. Like usual, Will was back saving the day, with Michael and Luke having some brilliant touches in defence. Tyne in particular played superb in the backs with great defence and passes. Barden Ridge then scored with the half time score being 2-1. Marley played well in the mid field, unlucky when his kick hit the side bar. Dano made some blinding runs down the sideline. Edward had some great touches of the ball and Jye was brilliant both in defence and attack. The Ridges then struck again with the score now 2-2. Matt had a great day in goals with some amazing saves and goal kicks, one of which set up a goal. A few opportunities went begging with the boys missing some unlucky shots. The passing was great today, especially between the mids and the forwards with some excellent through balls form Marley, Dano and Jye, and one-twos. Ben and Nick also did some great passing between them in the forwards. Even though Jared was very unwell on the day, he came on and helped the boys to a two all draw. Jayden had to pull out due to a back injury, but still came to support his team. Both teams played well, with the final score being 2 a piece. Lastly, a big thank you to Mr Grose for giving up his time to come and coach us both on the weekend and at training.
